A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR
As we watch another month come and go, we understand we are that much closer to worshiping in our new building space. It has been and remains a journey of faith. As I write this letter, I think of those who were part of our church in the launch of our building program. However, as we have journeyed, we have witnessed the loss of some and the gain of others. In some ways, we will be entering the promise for Calvary with a different group than we started with.
Although we may see a shift in the body, Jesus is still at the head. He is still leading us and directing us. His word lets us know that He will never leave us nor forsake us. His word is forever settled in heaven. His direction is set before us. He is the one who lays out our path for His name sake. These, along with other declared promises of the word of God, settle and create a level of faith that takes us to new heights with God.
I encourage the church to keep connected and strong in these days of darkness that are upon the earth. God is testing the body of Christ to see what they are made of. Is your relationship with God wood and stubble, or is it built on those things that will withstand the heat of life?
In this COVID time, we are witnessing the distinction between those who have a relationship with the church, and those who have a relationship with Christ. Those who have a relationship with God will make it through stronger in their faith than when they started. Those with a relationship with the church will come through weaker in their faith, if at all.
The scripture in Heb 12 lets us know that everything that can be shaken, will be shaken on the earth and in the heavens. And only those things that are unshakable (God’s Kingdom) will remain. If there ever was a time to connect with God in a deeper relationship, it is now. God’s kingdom will remain unshakable. Stay close to God and stay close to your relationships within the body. These are the things that keep us solid and anchored in this life.
There is a story that will unfold in the arena of world history. It is written and determined by God the creator and redeemer of humanity. There is nothing unplanned that is taking place out of God’s purview. Stay true to the author of your salvation. Stand on the doctrines of truth and establish your life with purpose to the kingdom of God and you will make it through.
We love each and everyone of you and thank you for your continued faithfulness to Calvary Church.
